Jeff Ruby at table.jpgJeff Ruby will appear with The Jeff Ruby Foundation entry (Position #22). Growing up fatherless on the New Jersey shore, Jeff Ruby took control of his destiny at the age of 15 when he ran away from home and lived on the sand under a boardwalk in Asbury Park.  With an indomitable spirit and a passion for innovation, excellence, and people, Jeff Ruby set out in 1981 to open what is now Cincinnati's longest-running, fine dining restaurant, The Precinct. Four decades later, Jeff Ruby is one of the most recognizable and iconic restaurateurs in the industry. His legendary steakhouses stretching across three states are can't-miss destinations for visiting luminaries and hometown fans alike.

Today, Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment employs 900 people across seven steakhouses and an event venue, The Lempicka by Jeff Ruby. JRCE is led by an executive team and Jeff’s three children, Britney Ruby Miller, Brandon, and Dillon Ruby.

The restaurants have earned national acclaim including OpenTable’s highly competitive Top 100 Restaurants in America list, naming Carlo & Johnny and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse among Ohio’s top six foodie destinations. And, while his business successes are what drove his public notoriety, it is perhaps his private philanthropic activity on which his legacy will be built. Most notably, for his entire adult life, he has become a surrogate father to countless teenage, fatherless boys needing guidance and a principled influencer in their lives.  In 2018, the Ruby family formalized these efforts with the launch of The Jeff Ruby Foundation with the mission to find solutions to providing stable and loving homes for vulnerable youth.
